Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. Hebrews 12:1
I have never been one for resolutions. I’m the type of person who likes to re-evaluate throughout the year and set short term goals. One thing I have adopted, however, is a word to focus on for each year. Leading up to the beginning of a new year I like to spend some time in prayer and reflection. I try to look within and ask the Lord to lead me in the direction he’d have me go, check my heart if you will. Of course, I think it’s important to do this all year long, but I love the idea of beginning anew, starting fresh. I believe a new year is the perfect time for reflection, for goal setting, for plan making, for organizing, rearranging, renewing, refreshing.. a reminder to strip off every weight that slows us down from doing what the Lord has called us to do. .I could go on and on.
This year the word I’ll be focusing on is consistency … I struggle with this in a few areas of my life and I plan to really work at it this year. I’ve struggle with staying consistent with exercising, blogging, my weekly cleaning routine, among other things….that’s just to name a few. With consistency comes intention and I want to be more aware in regards to intention in my daily comings, goings, and doings as well.
Thankfully there are some areas where I’m very consistent, things like my morning routine, our morning basket+morning time with my boys, I also try very hard to read my bible each day, but I know I can grow in this area as well. My hope and prayer this year is that I’m able to apply consistency dedication, and intention to the other important areas of my life as well.
In the spirit of starting fresh and being consistent I thought I would share what I’ve been up to this past week here on the blog. Christmas has come and gone and I’m slowing working at packing it all away and refreshing our home for the winter season and the start of 2020.
