GOODBYE SUMMER HELLO FALL

My Dearest Reader,

Welcome, if you’re here reading this then I know we must be kindred spirits, lovers of all things Autumn. Our souls awaken as the air gets crisp, as the leaves crunch beneath our feet. Our minds get lost gazing up at the vast autumn sky.

As the days grow shorter, and the nights cooler my heart can’t help but quicken at the thought of my favorite season and it’s long awaited arrival, how about you?

As a homemaker my end goal each an everyday is to create a space for my family that is , cozy, peaceful, warm, colorful, and inspirational…so basically I want my home to feel like Autumn all year long! And where better to start then when your feet walk through the door.

My good friend, Taylor, asked that I join in a Fall Entry Blog Hop and because Fall is my favorite, of course I said, “Yes!” If you’ve just come from Mid County Journal’s blog, isn’t her entry way just beautiful for Fall!? I love her beautiful sunroom. It’s so light and airy! I’ve also linked all the other bloggers below and I know you’ll just love what they have to share, so be sure to scroll all the way down to the end of this post for those links.

I think I probably mention this in every post on this little blog, so this won’t come as a surprise to many of you. For our “entry” I went simple and understated. I’ve only used things I already had. I like to let my home speak for itself. I want our daily everyday items to tell a story and serve a purpose, to be both pleasing to the eye and functional. For me it’s all just part of simple living and being intentional about my home.

How about you, do you go all out for holidays or do you go with simple little touches here and there? I don’t think there’s a right way or wrong way. Thats the beauty of “home” they all look different to each family!!

Because we don’t have a formal entry, I love having a little stool right by the door. It’s the perfect little spot for my bag and boots, which I’ve been needing almost daily because it just won’t stop raining!!

My favorite wreath…basically ever… and some seasonal flowers are the perfect touch to our piano area. This year I made a little felt bunting out of scraps I had laying around. The yellow makes my heart sing!

I guess I lied to you because I did get something new this season, haha. Those brown pillow covers from H&M. I love the earthy color and think it’s a perfect compliment to the woods and whites in our front room. For our book shelves and fireplace I added a few vintage ceramic pumpkins, dried lavender from our garden, a handmade book page leaf garland and set out all of our beeswax candles. Again, I love using functional pieces as decor. It just makes everything feel cozier to me.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope this little tour wasn’t too underwhelming for you. To quote one of my favorite books, “It’s not much, but it’s home.” – Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets
