Fall Blog Series {A Massachusetts Home Tour}

Today, I have the pleasure to share my friend, Nicole’s home with y’all. I’ve gotten to know Nicole over the past several months through Instagram and I’m so happy I did. Not only is her home gorgeous but she’s so kind hearted. I know it can be hard for people to understand how you can actually build great friendships through social media. I can’t really explain it, it just kind of happens. We all obviously share a common passion for decor and making our houses feel like home. But, I think it extends further than that. It’s so fun too meet new people and there is just so much support to be found in our community. I know you’re going to be inspired by Nicole’s home, so grab some coffee/tea and enjoy!

Hi! My name is Nicole, and I live in a modest colonial style home in Massachusetts…with my husband, 2 kids, dog, cat, and 4 chickens. We like to pretend we live on a farm in the country! This past February I decided to share my addiction…I mean passion for shopping and decorating by starting an Instagram account @myautumnfarmhouse, (formerly @myfarmhousefaded Haha it’s a long story) I feel like both names describe my design style…I like a neutral cozy faded color palate in our home, no matter what the season.

Our porch is simple and inviting with fall themed pillows, lanterns, and some heirloom pumpkins. I love to be able to sit here, have a cup of coffee, and watch the kids play in the leaves after school.

Entering into our living room, I like to keep this space neutral and cozy. My color palate generally stays the same…a neutral tan base with grays, light greens, and taupe. Once the weather turns to fall I like to add some fur and chunky knits. My fall decor is pretty simple…neutral pumpkins and a few fall pillows and signs.

This space flows right into our kitchen and dining area, where the story is quite the same…fall pillows and signs with a few pumpkins. Our tablescape is nature inspired with wood, greenery, antlers and a white pumpkin.

Our master and en suite is more of the same. In our bath I switched out our greenery for some cotton stems and wreath. For the bedroom, it’s no surprise, my favorite autumn pillow and some neutral pumpkins.

That about wraps up my fall home tour. Do you think we should go back and count how many times I said neutral?! It may not be for everyone, but I think I’ve managed to keep fall warm and cozy while keeping true to my own sense of style. If you’ve enjoyed this so far I hope you’ll grab a cup of coffee and come check out my page too, it’s MyAutumnFarmhouse.com
