Anyhoo…. Now that we’ve covered the chocolate part of this post, hehe
If you follow along on Instagram (@mrspollock09) Then you may have seen this picture. We were having a particularly interesting day. The boys were just being crazy. I said how prayer, grace and chocolate were beautiful things, can I get an Amen!
The boys were into everything, my house was literally a disaster. Toys, laundry, my to-do list growing longer and longer as the day went on. I was getting close to losing my marbles, haha. I was trying to do too much and starting to get overwhelmed. Then God whispered slow down. Relax. Y’all I’m a multi-tasker, I’m a doer, I’m a list maker. And because of these lovely little traits of mine (ha) when things aren’t going my way, I can get a little grumpy. I guess you could say pride gets in the way. My intentions are good, I tell myself to be patient, slow down. To enjoy those little moments but I fall short, friends.
I realize that there just aren’t enough hours in the day. It doesn’t all need to get done, it just can’t all be done. But despite knowing this I still get myself bent out of shape in the moment, again pride. Thinking about myself and what I can do. But this life, it’s not about what I’ve done, or what I can do. It’s about what God does, what God can do.
So I’m here to encourage you (and myself) dear friend! Don’t be so hard on yourself, be graceful! Not just a giver of grace but accepting of it as well. Grace is a beautiful, beautiful thing. Is it deserved? No but it’s a gift from God! In those moments when you feel like you’re failing, in those moments when you lose your cool, in those moments when you feel like you have no idea what you’re doing, prayer and grace my friends, prayer and grace!! Just let that mess go, let that to-do list go, live life’s little moments. When I lose my cool, when I’ve got a bad attitude and I’ve got to ask my kids for forgiveness for being grumpy, on man is that rough on the ego, haha. But I’m teaching them about grace, about forgiveness. I’m setting an example of what our Heavenly Father has done for me and what he’s done for them. I don’t deserve his grace or mercy, but he loves me despite my short comings. I’m precious in his sight, I’m loved and valued and so are you!
And in those moments remember God is bigger, prayer changes things, especially a bad moment, or a negative attitude, slow down, and eat some chocolate (because life is short friends and chocolate is too good, ha) If you scroll down I’ve included a fun (free) 8×10 printable for you!
But he said to me,“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:9
